Friday 14th August 2026
A new night ride for 2026 from the East Anglian representative!
It's a route of 105km and ~650m elevation.
Setting off from Norwich at midnight, we'll take cycle paths leaving the city before winding through villages.
Our halfway stop is a partial DIY catered affair at Elsing Village Hall. After refreshments (and tidying up), we'll head out towards the coast, taking in some of the local sights along the way.
Breakfast is at Whitewater on Cromer promenade. Yes, we're going as close as we can to the sea without sitting on the shingle beach. A breakfast form will be sent out nearer the time to help with café organisation.
Important note! There are (nominally) bike restrictions on the hourly Greater Anglia service back from Cromer to Norwich. So the places for the ride are limited to 20. We'll need to stagger our departure between a couple of trains or join me for a 40k ride back to Norwich. You could also use the ride as an opportunity to ride northwest on to King's Lynn or further south along the coast. If you're local, perhaps form a peloton homewards bound.
The registration form will ask whether you intend to get the train from Cromer to help with planning.
Before registration opens, please join the Norwich to Cromer WhatsApp group in the Fridays community (see link in newsletter) for discussion and ride chat.
Registration will open soon.
