Report on the Brighton night ride on 25th July 2025
38 of us left London on a mild night. After some wiggling through the quiet way to Clapham and across Tooting common we made our way to Mitcham, Wallington and Coulsdon. Escaping the lights of London we made our way over Farthing Down where there were, alas, no cattle but there were three badgers crossing the road. From there we descended the north downs and through sleepy villages to our halfway stop at the scout hut in Burstow.
As ever the scout leaders were pleased to see us, and us them. Long may that relationship continue.
After the break the ride progressed through the rolling weald before the climb to the Devils Dyke and the sweeping descent to the seaside and breakfasts.
